A fraction represents equal parts in a whole collection. Take a pizza for an example. When we divide a whole pizza in equal slices, the slices are called fractions. A fraction also has two parts, namely, the numerator and the denominator. The numerator is the number of parts taken from the whole collection while the denominator is the number of all equal parts in the entire collection.
